                 (Kiri
goes into the details of her trip to
Sirius for the ski races by starting off
with her impressions of the Festival of
Fish celebrated by Leah and Bunny’s family
who reside by the ocean. We hear about the
family and the loss of Leah and Bunny’s
mother during another Festival of Fish.
She returned as well back to the family
home and we get an update on her dad and
Gonzo plus what she learned about the
daughter of Lyka and Leah. There are some
                              genetics discussed that are fascinating
when paired with the rest of the
                              information channeled about the pregnancy.)

 Russ:
                                  ……..exciting, interesting and all of
                                  the above.

Kiri: oh yeah, the Festival of Fish
was unusual to say the least.

Russ: how did that go, how did our…..

Kiri: I’d never been to a festival
                                  like that before.

 Russ: our competing champions doing?

Kiri: she’s doing fine, she’s doing
                                  fine.

 Russ: did Leah catch one?

 Kiri: sorry?

 Russ: did Leah catch one?

 Kiri: oh yeah.

Russ: and Huna of course probably
                                  caught one.

 Kiri: uh-huh.

 Russ: all right Huna.

Kiri: and they're both wrapped up at
                                  the moment.

Russ: wrapped up in like bandages and
                                  casts?

Kiri: Leah has a broken arm.

 Russ: good call.

Kiri: uh-huh and Bunny has a broken
leg as well as a broken arm and……

Russ: as well as a broken arm?

 Kiri: uh-huh.

(Russ starts laughing so hard he
                                  coughs)

 Russ: who the heck…..oh well.

Kiri: well Bunny caught a…..let me do
                                  the maths here…….a 210 pound……no
                                  sorry, a 195 pound fish.

 Russ: pretty good-sized.

Kiri: yeah she’s only I think
                                  about…..maths time again…..a 122 of
                                  your pounds?

 (Russ whistles)

Kiri: and Leah caught a 152 pound
                                  fish, I caught a 95 pound fish.

Russ: oh you’re going for small fry
                                  huh?

Kiri: well I went first actually, it’s
                                  quite a funny sport.

Russ: yeah being as you’re catching
them by your bare hands there.

Kiri: uh-huh, not allowed to use any
of your abilities. The first one that
I caught was not allowed, they threw
mud at me because I caught a 295 pound
                                  one.

Russ: uh-huh, I’ll bet you did.

Kiri: uh-huh. Well it didn’t put up
much for fight so they figured out
that I’d actually coerced it but I
                                  didn’t know that.

Russ: what do you mean you didn’t know
                                  that, you didn’t mean to?

Kiri: well I didn’t know that was one
of the rules that you can't use any of
                                  your abilities.

Russ: oh, a 295 pound fish, how big is
                                  that?

 Kiri: it’s big.

 Russ: I can imagine.

 Kiri: uh-huh.

Russ: "Jaws" of the river there.

Kiri: it was big, it was about 8 foot
long and it could’ve swallowed me.

 Russ: oh geez.

 Kiri: uh-huh.

Russ: so you actually just got it
there, it sat there going kind of,
                                  “huh”?

Kiri: no, I wrestled it and once I got
                                  into it's mind……yeah.

 Russ: it calmed right down.

Kiri: uh-huh and that was it, pushed
it to the shore and put it on the
                                  shore and that was it.

Russ: at which point they started
                                  throwing mud at you huh?

Kiri: uh-huh, it was quite funny
                                  actually.

Russ: I can imagine, so you caught
yourself a little tiny one too..

Kiri: yeah, really caught it and
almost tore my arm off, those things
                                  are slippery and tough.

Russ: yeah well 295 pounds of fish
without your coercion it would have
                                  taken you and…..

Kiri: would’ve broken me to pieces.

Russ: yeah, it'd still be a
                                  reconstruction.

Kiri: uh-huh and when I saw Bunny go
after her fish…..how much did I say it
                                  was, 210?

 Russ: 195.

Kiri: that was Leah’s I think.

 Russ: Leah’s was 152.

Kiri: yeah 152. Yeah I mean I thought
she had lost it, I saw her go under
the water and she was down there for a
                                  while.

 Russ: wow.

Kiri: and then she came up and bam
                                  against a rock, I think that’s when
she broke her leg and she just kept on
going and when she broke her arm she
actually kept her arm wrapped around
its neck and you could see the blood
just seething out of her arm.

 Russ: God dang.

Kiri: uh-huh and then she dragged it
to the shore and sat down and it’s
sort of like she goes, “I need to see
a doctor.” So I went and got a doctor
and when I came back Leah was sitting
there saying that she also needed a
doctor and Lyka was doing a
battlefield dress on both of them.

 Russ: oh that’s good.

 Kiri: uh-huh. Yeah she had….

Russ: too bad Karra wasn’t there, she
                                  could have helped out.

Kiri: oh it was a pity but it was just
the four of us that went.

 Russ: oh really?

 Kiri: uh-huh.

Russ: so what did you do to the fish?

 Kiri: oh we ate it.

 Russ: oh.

 Kiri: yeah.

Russ: even the 295 pound one?

 Kiri: no.

 Russ: you threw that back.

Kiri: yeah we threw the other two back
                                  because they were alive. I
unfortunately had mine out of the
water longer than it could take so it
had to be eaten which isn’t too bad.

 Russ: even a 95 pound fish, that’ll
feed all four of you and then some.

Kiri: oh yeah, we carried it down, the
doctor and myself on a gurney and we
had Bunny and Leah on another gurney
and Lyka walking along behind so we
walked all the way back down then we
                                  had a big fish fry.

 Russ: excellent.

Kiri: uh-huh. Do you know how many
there is of Bunny and Leah’s family?

Russ: I would say quite a few compared
to what I was just doing of Bunny’s
                                  transcription.

Kiri: uh-huh, there was over 2,000 of
them there. There was two guys that
                                  were having a headbutting contest.

Russ: oh yeah, shaking a few nuts out
                                  of the tree were they?

Kiri: oh yeah, most certainly, it was
                                  quite funny actually.

Russ: that would be pretty good but
                                  2,000 huh?

 Kiri: uh-huh.

 Russ: wow.

Kiri: and there were other groups that
went off and did the fish contest but
                                  apparently it’s only a woman's sport.

 Russ: hmm that’s strange.

 Kiri: uh-huh.

Russ: I wonder why the men don’t
                                  participate, too easy for them?

Kiri: probably, that’s what they were
                                  claiming.

 Russ: uh-huh, I would too.

Kiri: yeah, the impression I got was
that Leah and Bunny’s part of the
family is the rich, well-to-do and the
rest are sort of like let me see, what
would be a good description? Rednecks?

Russ: you know you’re a redneck if you
have to take your toothpick out for
                                  your wedding photos.

Kiri: yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. How do
the jokes go? You might be……if your
                                  girlfriend.......let me get the accent
right, if your girlfriend wears a
backless dress and wears her bra, you
                                  might be a redneck.

Russ: how about this one? You might be
a redneck if you’ve been married three
times and you still have the same
                                  in-laws.

Kiri: or how about this one? If you
introduce your wife and your sister
and there’s only one person, you might
                                  be a lowland beach bum.

(Leah and Bunny’s family are located
                                  on the coast of Sirius)

Kiri: they were certainly a very
                                  strange bunch, very friendly and
affectionate but it was definitely you
could tell the two parts of the
                                  family.

Russ: is there a matriarch or
patriarch or some leader of the
                                  family?

 Kiri: not really.

 Russ: hmm.

 Kiri: there’s the…..

Russ: I know with the highlanders it's
                                  different….

 Kiri: oh yes.

Russ: and that is the one and only
                                  leader of the family.

 Kiri: uh-huh.

Russ: and there is no quarreling or
                                  quibbling or nothing.

Kiri: no there was a lot of not
quarreling but trying to dominate who
was the boss and everything. I mean
there was Bunny’s father, now he’s an
                                  interesting character.

 Russ: really? Do tell.

Kiri: very shy, very reclusive, he
only came out I think like three
                                  times?

Russ: that’s where Leah got her
                                  shyness from.

Kiri: uh-huh yeah. Very shy and…

Russ: where did Bunny get her
                                  extroverted style?

 Kiri: from her late mother.

 Russ: late mother?

Kiri: uh-huh, yes, her mother tried to
set a new record with a fish and
                                  unfortunately paid the price.

Russ: well so did you, you almost paid
                                  the price.

Kiri: uh-huh, yeah. Yeah she got
drowned, she wouldn’t give up. Sounds
very much like Bunny, doesn’t it?

 Russ: uh-huh.

 Kiri: uh-huh but she wasn’t
as......what’s the word? In a high
                                  sexual state as much.

Russ: hmm. But Bunny already had
                                  caught a fish.

 Kiri: uh-huh.

Russ: so she wasn’t out to set any
                                  records.

Kiri: oh no, she was just to have fun.

 Russ: Jesus.

 Kiri: uh-huh.

Russ: so what does it look like, are
they like jumping off these falls
                                  right?

 Kiri: uh-huh.

Russ: and they get in these like pools
and you go in the pools and go try to
grab them as they’re in the pools or
                                  something?

Kiri: nope, as they’re going up the
                                  waterfalls.

Russ: you stand in the waterfall?

 Kiri: uh-huh.

Russ: the water’s pouring down on your
head, the fish are jumping up and
you’re trying to catch the fish in the
                                  middle of a waterfall?

 Kiri: uh-huh.

 Russ: okay.

 Kiri: yep.

Russ: and Lyka of course couldn’t
                                  participate.

Kiri: no. The first time I tried I
caught one and it was a medium-sized
one, I think maybe 150 pounds and I
had a hold of it and lost it. And then
I tried another one and I couldn’t do
it so Bunny suggested that I remove
                                  all my clothing.

 Russ: naturally.

Kiri: so I did and it was actually
                                  easier to catch.

Russ: hmm, I imagine you lost some
                                  skin though.

 Kiri: uh-huh well I had a T-shirt on
and my bikini bottom and it was sort
of like with the slime on the fish, it
was very hard to catch a hold of once
my T-shirt got slimy and got very
                                  soaked.

Russ: hmm, the trick is you can’t wash
                                  it off.

 Kiri: uh-huh.

 Russ: interesting.

Kiri: whereas on the skin you can.

Russ: hmm, good point. Hey thanks for
                                  sending me the e-mail.

 Kiri: oh you’re welcome, you’re
                                  welcome.
